Session 2: Adidas Midwest Circuit
Ohio Champion Basketball 2023 entered Session 2 of the Adidas Midwest Circuit with a 3-1 record. OCB had a tough day on Saturday at Premier Academy in Toledo, Ohio, losing Game 1 to OH DOSE 54-53 in OT. OCB then played undefeated Louisville Magic 2023 in Game 2, trailing at halftime (36-33) before eventually falling to the Magic 70-61. On a positive note, forward Jack Kronauge recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
OCB bounced back on Sunday defeating MWA Elite (MI) 68-56 and HBA Elite (IN) 61-46 to finish up the weekend strongly with two consecutive victories.
OCB was led in scoring by Evan Ipsaro (17 ppg), Jack Kronauge (16 ppg) and Brady Hardewig (13 ppg). OCB also had strong contributions Sunday from G Tyler Haynes, F Alex Devine and F/C Conner Cravaack. G/F Nick Williams came off the bench Sunday vs HBA Elite to spark a late first half run. Forwards Kyle Toon and Carson Cravaack were solid all weekend defending and rebounding in the paint!
Where We Stand: Heading into Session 3, our record in the Midwest Circuit thus far stands at 5-3. OCB is currently scoring 63 points per game while giving up only 57 points per game (+6 scoring margin). Notably, two of OCB's three losses thus far in the Midwest Circuit have come by way of OT games, and all three losses ended in close games (avg. -4.7 point scoring margin).
What's Next: OCB will head up I-71 to Columbus to compete in a loaded field at the Buckeye Prep Invitational. Then OCB will travel to Indianapolis the following weekend for a very important and Session 3 of the highly competitive Midwest Circuit with tournament seeds on the line!
