Buckeye Prep Invitational Tournament
Ohio Champion Basketball 2023 in the Buckeye Prep Invitational against a loaded field full of highly competitive teams:
Day 1: OCB finished 1-1 in pool play on Saturday, defeating TNBA Attack (53-18) before falling to Triple Threat (53-48). OCB was able to advance to Gold Bracket play Sunday. The day began with a hard-fought win against Dayton Metro (48-45). Leading the entire second half, OCB held off a late comeback by Dayton Metro with some clutch free throws to secure the victory.
Day 2: In the quarterfinals, OCB took on #3 state (OH) ranked Dayton Wolves. OCB trailed early before taking a four-point lead into halftime. Toughness and defense down the stretch were key, as OCB defeated the Wolves (42-38). Later on Sunday, OCB 2023 faced Grand Rapids-Phoenix (MI) in the semifinals for the right to play for a championship. OCB held a four-point lead with just under two minutes remaining in the game but ultimately fell to Grand Rapids on a buzzer-beating three-point shot (57-54).
Where We Stand: Ohio Champion Basketball 2023 currently sits as the #6 ranked team in Ohio according to the Buckeye Prep 2018 Ohio Boys AAU Power Rankings.
What's Next: OCB returns to the Adidas Midwest Circuit this weekend in Indianapolis at Best Choice Fieldhouse. OCB has four really tough games in Session 3 of The Circuit with seeds on the line for the Adidas Midwest Circuit Tournament May 5-6 in Franklin, OH.
